What i believe Thomas Carlyle is trying to say is if you don't have a goal in mind you won't be able to move forward. Just like a boat needs a rudder to move.  I really like this quote because it compares to things to explain the meaning of something.

Memorial Day Weekend

My Memorial Day weekend wasn't really great. All i did was stay at home and hang out with my family. I didn't really go anywhere special. Something i did do was watch soccer. There was a game against rival teams. The game had me out of my seat. It was very exciting. My family and i watched a couple movies on Netflix. Although I didn't do much for my memorial day weekend, i still had a good time chilling with my family.

"When a deep injury is done us, we never recover until we forgive."

The definition of forgive to me and to may others is to stop feeling angry or resentful toward someone for an offense, flaw or mistake. What Alan Paton is trying to say is if you are injured from the inside the only way to heal or to recover is to forgive. In my opinion this is the only way to heal or recover if you are hurt or injured inside emotionally and physically.

" Dare to do right."

I agree with Rex D Pinegar that you should dare to do the right and choose the right. If you don't dare to do right you will just do wrong and choose the wrong. Doing what is right shows that you are a good person. Doing what is wrong shows that you are a horrible person. it is better to do the right than the wrong because you don't know what can come from doing either or. Doing one can lead to good and the other can lead to bad things. But you never know what you can get from doing something. So that is why it is best to do what is right because you can get something good from it.

"Dare to stand alone."

I agree with Thomas S. Monson because he is very true. Some people like to work with others but you need to dare to stand alone. This is best at times. This can lead you to success.  Working alone or doing things yourself is better because it separates you from other people. It shows that you are good working with others but great by yourself. This is a good way to show that you are a hard worker both in a pair or single.

I agree with Dan Dierdorf because what he is saying is very true. This does not just go for him but for every bodies life. This is a good way to live your life. What he is saying is that if you have a goal, no matter what, you should always follow it. if you keep on chasing your goals it will soon come together and you will reach your goal. Everything will come in line as you always wanted to. The reason this is happening is because you keep on chasing your dreams.

FBI Agent

These tips are very useful not just for me but for everyone. These tips should be things you should strive for. All of these tips are very true not just in school but in life. Following these tips will lead you to great success. To work hard is to do whatever you can to reach your goal. Following your passions is doing what you love.

 I agree with Dennis Prager because what he is saying is very true. There is nothing else more important than this.

I agree with Theodore Roosevelt because what he is saying is very true and wise. When there is a chance for you to make a decision the best and the right thing to do is to choose the right.  That is basically what he is saying. What i learned from this quote is that Teddy was a very wise and smart man. One example from this quote is say you find a wallet with tons of money. You have the decision to either give it back or keep it to yourself. During the making of your decision you should think about doing the right. If you decide to keep the money, the guilt will stay inside you forever. You will not be able to go further with your life if you do not give the wallet back to it's owner.

I agree with Wilford Woodruff because what he is saying is very true. When you do something that is wrong nothing is ever gained from doing it. even if you do something good don't expect anything back, that is what my mom always says. If you are lucky you can get something from it, but don't expect it. if you expect it you are a ctw person. By reading this quote i can tell that Wilford was a ctr man.

I agree with Pam Knox because it is always a good moment when someone steps up and does the right thing. This will always be a great moment when things like this happen. When someone chooses the right, it is always a great moment when your there to experience it.

I agree with Karl G. Maeser because what he is saying is very true. What he said is very wise. This quote shows that Karl was a man who stood by his word. That word was the word of honor.
